Pickled Purple Cabbage

Pickled purple cabbage is not just a colorful garnish; it’s a nutritional superstar that can enhance your meals and boost your health. With its vibrant hue and zesty flavor, this fermented treat is gaining popularity among home cooks and health enthusiasts alike.


Makes 3 cups | ⏱️ 10 mins | gluten free 🌾


Ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups cabbage, shredded

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1/2 cup apple cider

  • 1/2 cup white vinegar

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 2 tsp salt


Instructions:

  1. Begin by placing the shredded cabbage and crushed garlic into a large glass jar.

  2. Combine the vinegars, water, sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan.

  3. Stir and heat until the salt and sugar have dissolved.

  4. Pour the liquid over the cabbage and allow it to sit until it cools before refrigerating.


Note:

  • Store in the fridge for 2 weeks.

  • Use on nourish bowls, chilli and in sandwiches.
