Apple crumble is more than just a dessert; it brings back warm memories of family gatherings or cozy evenings at home. With its sweet, tender apples and a crunchy, buttery topping, it has a special place in many hearts. Whether you are hosting a festive dinner or enjoying a quiet night in, learning how to make apple crumble from scratch is a skill worth having.

Makes 10 servings | ⏱️ 1 hour
Ingredients: Apple Filling
6 - 7 cups of apples, peeled, cored and chopped into bite sized pieces
2 tbsp light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice - optional
2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot powder
Ingredients: Crumble
1 1/4 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup sliced almonds
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 white sugar
1/2 cup vegan butter, room temperature
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Combine all the ingredients for the apple filling in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
Transfer the apple filling into a medium-sized baking dish.
In another bowl, combine all the crumble ingredients and mix thoroughly using either the back of a fork or your hands. Personally, I prefer using my hands to ensure everything is well blended.
With your hands, spread the crumble over the apple mixture.
Bake the crumble for 40 to 45 minutes. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
