Simple Tofu Scramble

Looking for a tasty breakfast option that’s nutritious, high protein, vegan and simple to make? Tofu scramble is the perfect solution. This delightful alternative to scrambled eggs is a favorite for those embracing a plant-based lifestyle.


Makes 2 servings | ⏱️ 10 mins | gluten free 🌾


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 block extra firm tofu (roughly 200 grams)

  • 1/4 tsp kala namak (black salt)

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tsp avocado oil - sub for any vegetable oil

  • 3 tbsp unsweetened plant milk

  • pinch of salt


Instructions:

  1. Begin by heating the avocado oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  3. With your hands, break the tofu into small pieces directly into the frying pan and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Then, incorporate the kala namak, turmeric, yeast, and onion powder, and stir for a minute.

  5. Pour in the plant milk and stir until the tofu has soaked up the milk.

  6. Season with salt to your liking and serve.
